THE STORY

ANCIENT CERAMIC WORKSHOP

The excavations to construct the hotel started on 2018, by Pilot Beach Hotel Company and revealed an ancient finding with numerous broken ceramic pieces. After archaeological research, the conclusion was that a ceramic workshop from the 2nd century was on site.

The damaged pieces found are different type of pots, beehive ceramic container, pipes and construction artifacts from the ancient times. Respect to the history the artifacts are displayed in an exhibition area, with original copies, within the hotel. The construction finished on 2019 with historical references, the outcome was a modern boutique hotel designed with earthy colors and several indications to its ceramic tradition.
